1. Two Roads (Which one to take?)
v13. "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad
is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.
v.14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and
only a few find it."
There are only 2 choices in this life, not many choices are many people
used to say. Narrow gate is harder but leads to life, the others are the
highway to the hell.
2. Two fruits (Who do we listen to?)
v15. "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing,
but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.
But how to recognise those false teachers??
v16. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from
thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
v17. Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears
bad fruit.
So don't just listen, you should challenge every words that are spoken.
3. Two faiths (Genuine or fake?)
A WARNING!!
v21. "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. v22. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' v23. Then I will tell them plainly 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'
There are many peoples that claim to be a christian. How to know who is genuine?
Look at their actions. Only those who does the will of the God is the genuine. God cannot be fooled.
4. Two Foundations (Who is my trust in?)
What is your foundation in your live? career, money, education?
Enter through the narrow gate is very difficult. There are many prosecutions
against the real christian, either in your workplace or in your community.
Only those who build their foundations on the word of God will stand firm.
v24. "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. v25. "The rain come down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.
If you build your foundation on anything else, you will fall down in the time of turbulence.
v26. "But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. v27. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."
Two ways to Live: God's way or our way
